St Alkelda's Church, Giggleswick

Built on the foundations of an Anglo Saxon Church, St Alkelda’s was the mother church of the Ancient Parish of Giggleswick, which comprised of the townships of Giggleswick, Rathmell, Settle, Langcliffe and Stainforth. Nowadays the parish is part of the recently formed Benefice of Castleberg and united with the parishes of Settle and Rathmell with Wigglesworth.

The church is situated in the heart of the village of Giggleswick, it is the centre of the community and God has been worshipped in the current building for approx. 800 years.
