Inman Collection
The Inman Collection comprises photos taken from glass plates found in the attic of Kettlewell Village Store, formerly belonging to Postmaster Walter Percy Inman. Percy Inman contracted independent photographers to capture local villages and the Upper Wharfedale landscape to create postcards for sale in Kettlewell Village Store. Walter Scott and William Curtis are known to have been two of the photographers though it is thought that there were others
It is not known which photographs belong to which photographer or the exact date they were taken. It is known that Percy Inman was running the store and was Postmaster in 1901. The photographs formed part of an exhibition “Presenting the Past” by Upper Wharfedale Art & Literature Society in 2022
