Article from Craven Herald headline “The State of Selside village green”
A letter had been previously submitted to the Craven Herald by a former resident of the village, dismayed at the condition of the village green. The report details feelings of residents, shared with their Parish Council and The Craven Herald.
A handwritten note on the article from contributor Wilf Fenten reads as follows:
“Cutting from Craven Herald (1991 or (1992?). We were quite stung by the, albeit mild rebuke. Now some six years later most of it has been cleared and the village green registered as common land. With a bit of luck we might get rid of some of the remaining “unslightly objects”.”
