Lindon House
Lindon House, Malham Road
Originally a barn and cottage called Wayside. Mr Pratt, the farm man from Scosthrop House Farm lived in the cottage which still exists. Attached to it was a barn which, in the early part of the 20th century, was a workshop belonging to William Beck. At right angles to it was a wooden engine shed with two floors and bogey tracks laid on the ground. The barn had double doors for lorries to go in. Mr Beck did work for the village and the Dale. He died in 1946 and the building gradually deteriorated and the engine shed was pulled down. It was converted into a guest house in 1978
