A two storey, stone farmhouse with extension built on land which was once owned by Fountain’s Abbey. An agreement of 1409 brought the Malham Moor boundary to Rough Close, or Brodewythes, because in ancient times crosses had been set in the ground as landmarks. Before the dissolution, Jeffray Proctor held a tenement at Rughecloss of lands and meadows
