Hanlith Hall
Hanlith Hall
This house was built in 1668, possibly on the site of an older house, by Robert Serjeantson whose family were landowners in Hanlith from 1350 to the beginning of the 20th century. It has twice been remodelled, firstly in1892 and then in 1912. A tower and 16 bedrooms were removed in the 1960s by Lady Bulmer. A stone effigy of the serjeant at arms, the insignia of the Serjeantson family, is on a front gable
