In 1851 Census, William is 3 and living with his parents at Litton
In 1861 Census, William was 13 and living at Otterburn Hall with his farming father and mother James and Ann, and his brothers and sisters James H, Ann, Jane, Mary and Elizabeth
In 1871 Census, William was 23 and living at Kirk Syke with his father and mother James and Ann, and siblings
In 1881 Census he has moved with his wife, Margaret and children to another farm in Airton
By 1891 Census, William, wife Margaret and family had moved to Close House Farm near Skipton
