Articles include a discussion of compassion and diet in the Dales by John Sheard, a second piece on ‘The Dalesman and his Dwellings’, a response to the item on the Pennine Bridleway by Mary Towneley, comments on the European Nature Conservation Year and the Countryside Commission’s ‘Quality of Countryside – Quality of Life’ prospectus.

There is also a report on the winners of the Dales Telecommunications and Small Business Competition.

There is a poem ‘Winter’ by Joan Ingleby and ‘The Carpet Slippered Hare’ by Anna Adams.
