The woman in the centre is (Mrs) Edith Sedgwick who was my paternal grandmother. At the time of this photograph, it was wartime and she had joined the railway in response to manpower shortages caused by the war. Her husband, Christopher (Kit) Sedgwick also worked here as a signalman. They lived in Selside with their two sons; Gordon and Kenneth.
