It contains poor accounts including those of the poor house for the parishes and townships of Settle, Austwick, Horton in Ribblesdale and Giggleswick as well as detailed land ... Poor House Records LPM/002 Records relating to the poor house at Lawkland which accommodated inmates from a number of parishes and townships in North Craven. These records include ledger books showing purchases made, accession registers, minute books for meetings of the overseers etc. John Shackleton Account Book LPM/002/001 Account book covering period 1813 to 1835, detailing expenses and monies paid out to residents in the Poorhouse and other deserving cases. In four segments. John Shackleton Account Book LPM/002/002 Account book covering period 1818-1822, showing registered paupers in this period together with monies paid out to each individual pauper on a monthly basis. Poorhouse Record Book LPM/002/004 Giving details of the various people entering the Poorhouse, together with their dates of departure. Also states the Parish/Township to which they belong. The book covers the whole period of the Poorhouse from 1823-1836. Guardians of the Poor Meeting Book LPM/002/006 Covering Meetings between 5 May 1824 and 5 October 1836. Also in this book is an annual inventory of the Poorhouse from 1823-1835 and for 1837. It appears that an inventory was not taken for 1836. In three segments.
